CAD Coordinator


Salary: £28000 - £35000 per annum

A Mechanical and Electrical Contractor, based in Birmingham are now seeking an M&E CAD Technician who is knowledgeable in both Mechanical & Electrical Building Services to join their busy department. Knowledge of one discipline would be considered, but a willing to learn the other discipline would be required.

The role :

· Production of Electrical and Mechanical Working drawings.

· Production of high quality, detailed and fully coordinated M&E service construction drawings

· CAD 3D modelling and BIM using AutoCAD

· Liaison with various disciplines to produce fully coordinated drawings

· Attending site meetings when required

· Assist in the production of design documentation including technical submissions, specifications, and working drawings.

· Assist in the production of Quality Assurance documentation associated with the receipt and issuing of drawings and information.

· Maintain Project files to ensure they are up to date with the latest design and construction information by using online portal systems

· Working on multiple MEP projects from start through to completion/ handover

· Ensure that CAD procedures are implemented, maintained and followed by other members of the team.

Key Skills and Experience

A good knowledge of Mechanical Electrical Services within the construction industry.
The ability to read, interpret and fully understand project specifications and drawings.
Experience in using AutoCAD 2020 2D, with two years’ experience being desirable.
An understanding and ability to use MEP Revit is desirable but not essential
An understanding of BIM documentation and associated impact on the project drawings/ model is desirable but not essential.
Good communication skills
A professional, friendly and honest attitude, with the ability to build good relationships with colleagues.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver clear and accurate information
A team worker and with customer focus - you will be required to work collaboratively with your team to achieve better outcomes for clients
Strong organisation - you plan and prioritise workload to ensure that deadlines are met.
A willingness to be flexible to meet the demands of the job
You have the ability to plan and multi-task and can work to strict deadlines
IT literate and experienced ion the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
